A broken patio or slab can be costly!

With Colorado's notoriously expansive soil, patios and slabs easily begin to crack and sink. Before they know it, homeowners end up dealing with issues much bigger than they first expected.

Trips & Falls

Those who visit may stumble over the uneven patio concrete or their chair may be off-balance, causing them to fall backward.

Fractures & Injuries

Falling on uneven patios can result in fractures and injuries to various parts of the body. This could possibly lead to lawsuits.

Water Damage

Water seeping through the broken pieces near your house may begin collecting against the foundation. This could weaken the foundation and cause it to crack.

But don't worry - with a free assessment, TK Concrete Lifting can show you just how easy it is to fix your damaged patio and eliminate these problems for good!

About Travis.

Hi there. My name is Travis Knepp, and I own and operate TK Concrete Lifting. When I bought my house in Cañon City, Colorado, I discovered how difficult it can be to host an outdoor party for guests when our patio concrete had sunken. I could have simply replaced the sunken concrete, but that would have been a lot of work and cost a lot more money. Polyurethane foam is far easier and a much cheaper way to repair sidewalks.

Patio & Slab repair FAQs

What is the best way to repair a concrete slab?

First, identify what type of repair is needed. If the slab has sunken, polyurethane foam can be used to lift and level it again by injecting the foam beneath the slab, known as foam jacking. The foam expands to level the slab, providing a cost-effective solution for settling or sinking. However, it is not suitable for structural damage.

How do you repair a broken concrete slab corner?

If the corner of a concrete slab has sunk, using a polyurethane foam injection is an effective solution to lift and level it back into place. However, if the corner is broken, a concrete bonding agent will need to be applied before filling it with concrete mix.

Should I repair or replace my concrete slab?

To determine whether to repair or replace a concrete slab, evaluate the extent of the damage. Minor cracks or surface spalling can be repaired, but extensive damage, such as large cracks, deep fissures, or significant settling, may require replacement to ensure long-term durability and safety. However, even most settling can be repaired simply by lifting the sunken portion of slab back into place with polyurethane foam. A small hole is drilled through the concrete, and a special foam is injected beneath the slab to lift and level it. The foam cures quickly, and the sidewalk can be used immediately. How do you repair a cracked concrete patio?

There are three options to repair a cracked concrete patio.

  1. If this damage is crumbling concrete, remove debris and broken concrete, clean the area, and patch it with concrete mix.
  2. If the damage is cracked and uneven concrete, lift uneven concrete into place with polyurethane foam.
  3. If the damage is too extensive, completely replace the patio for a long-lasting solution.
